Invite

We’re delighted to bring you an educational day of thought-provoking seminars, workshops and presentations. This year’s agenda will include:

How to be a Productivity Ninja

In the age of information overload, traditional time management techniques don’t cut it anymore. Grace Marshall will be introducing you to the Way of the Productivity Ninja: using techniques including Ruthlessness, Mindfulness, Zen-like Calm and Stealth & Camouflage to make the most of your attention, master your inbox, beat procrastination and achieve what really matters in the time you have available. You will leave the workshop with practical tips to use in your day to day work.

How to design & deliver effective training

Training is an essential part of a health & safety management programme. Employers have a legal duty to provide the information, instruction & training necessary for their employees to carry out their work safely. In addition to this, an effective training programme can help to foster a positive health & safety culture, make employees feel valued & help you identify areas for improvement. In this session, we will discuss: – The legal requirements – How to deliver effective training – How engaging communications can maximise training success

Face Fit Testing Clinic

99% of workplace fatalities are as a result of respiratory diseases. As tight-fitting respirators are only effective when they seal adequately to the wearer’s face, fit testing is an essential part of a respiratory protection programme.

Face fit testing expert and Fit2Fit accredited Alan McArthur details the requirements of fit testing, helping you to ensure compliance and effective protection of your Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) wearing employees. This session will cover: – Why, when and how to fit test – The differences between a fit test and fit check – What makes a competent fit tester

Think for 30 seconds to boost compliance

At some of 3M’s manufacturing sites, we encourage our employees to think for 30 seconds before they act, especially before they complete non-routine tasks. The Think for 30 Seconds (TF-30) initiative highlights the importance of understanding hazards and planning controls.

The agenda will also include sessions on:

  • Slip and trip hazard awareness
  • Replacing workplace stress with success
  • Hearing conservation guidelines
  • Working at height with 3M Fall Protection
  • ‘Ask the expert’ panel session
